Learn how to discover Sets on TokenSets.com

Introduction

Investors can explore the Tokensets Dapp to find the best product for their investing needs. As an Investor, there are a number of things you should consider before committing your capital - keep reading along to understand how to discover and interpret Sets.

Explore Page

Where can I search for Sets to find the perfect product for me?

All Sets live on the blockchain, implying they are visible and discoverable to all. The TokenSets Dapp is the leading UI interface built on top of Set Protocol on-chain data.

The Explore page on TokenSets is the best way to discover the most popular Sets today.

The New Sets Carousel includes the most trending "Featured" (aka verified by our Product team and are highly liquid) Sets for our Investors. As a new investor, we recommend starting here to find a popular product!

Category Tabs

The below Categories all contain Sets that are Featured. The "Uncategorized" tab contains Community-verified Sets (where managers have completed our product Customization Form, but have not been explicitly vetted by our Product team.)

Thematic Sets

Thematic Sets provide investors broad exposure over an entire industry or theme. These Sets often rebalance on some cadence, such as monthly or quarterly. Thematic Sets are the best way for a user to capture diversified returns across many different projects.

Leveraged Sets

Leveraged Sets are short-term products that give investors a leveraged long or short position for a given asset/group of assets. These products obtain their leverage entirely on-chain, via some external protocol such as Aave, Compound, or Perpetual Protocol, and require no additional management from investors.

You can find more information about the leverage methodology, including how often it rebalances to maintain its target leverage ratio, by clicking into the Set and reading the description.

Yield Bearing Sets

Yield Bearing Sets earn interest/yield over time, based on varying creative strategies. For instance, icETH and ETHMAXY earn yield via governance rewards on Aave using stETH. Our basis trading product, MNYe, earns yield via funding rates on Perpetual Protocol.

Yield Bearing Sets contain an "APY" estimate, which is a projection calculated based on the last month's return. Please note that past returns are NOT indicative of future results.

Uncategorized Sets

The Uncategorized tab displays all Community Sets that live in our GitHub repository. This allows managers to upload a custom logo and description to help educate their investors.

This pane also has a search bar to find Community Sets by address, name or symbol. The search bar is useful when looking for small-cap Sets or socially-traded Sets.

Set Details Page

When you click into a Set via the search field or Explore page you will be presented with the Set details page. It is here when you will find various important pieces of information. For this example, we will be running through the DeFi Pulse Index details page, but the same checks can be applied to any Set that interests you.

The header consists of:

  • Set Creator - click into this to be taken to the Set creators wallet via Etherscan.

  • Market Cap - derived from the total assets under management within the underlying Set contract deployed on Ethereum

  • Streaming Fee - the method a set is monetised by the Manager that is payable by you the Investor over time.

Streaming Fees

The streaming fees are fees that are paid out to Set managers over time based on the entire market cap of the Set (e.g. 2% of market cap over 1 year). This incentivizes managers to increase the value of their Sets over time for their users.

The streaming fee is calculated linearly over the lifespan of the Set. For example, if a Set has a 2% streaming fee and 6 months has passed, 1% of streaming fees would have been collected.

  • Performance via Zerion - everyone wants to track the performance of the assets they invest in and currently Zerion tracks the performance of all created Sets on the protocol out of the box for the entire duration. It's worth noting that if the Set has enough liquidity on a DEX or is listed on a CEX it would also by default be chartable on the likes of TradingView and other 3rd party charting services.

  • Current Balance - the total dollar value of the total amount of that particular Set token you own. This is based on the Wallet you are connected with to TokenSets.

Allocation Table

The Allocation Table is where you will see all the key information regarding what assets are backing each Set token! It's important to remember that Sets are 100% collateralised baskets of Tokens. This means that the value of a Set is directly related to the underlying assets and will never be any discrepancy on the matter. In the above example, the DeFi Pulse Index is a sector-based structured product with a central aim to capture the performance of DeFi based projects using a detailed methodology.

About

The About section is where Set Managers can brief Investors on any background, methodology and other details that should be reviewed before considering where to allocate capital.

Key Information

The Key Information section is an important summary of external links and metrics for the benefit of the viewer. Notable inclusions that differ from the Header is the 'View on Etherscan' link where you can verify the on-chain data of the Set, the 'Manager Address' allowing you to verify the wallet that has permission to trade the capital within the portfolio and finally the 'Unactualized Streaming Fee', which is the accrued Set fees not yet claimed by the Manager.

Profile

The final section to inspect is the Manager Profile. Here there will be relevant external links to learn more about the entity behind the chosen Set including websites, Twitter handles and more where applicable.
